My Dearest Tribers

One Year

My Dearest Tribers,

It’s me, your friend Pamela. The voice behind the Unapologetically Me Blog. I hope you are well. No, scratch that. I hope you are stable, present and in a healthy headspace.

I write this letter to you on what will soon be my one year anniversary of creating this blog. I found it only fitting to pen a letter to you with so much gratitude.

First, I’d like to thank you for your love and dedication. I appreciate that you have shown up for me on this journey. You may be one of my original tribers who jumped on from day one. Or you might have just accidentally come across my blog in the last week. No matter the length of our friendship, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

While doing some reflection over this last year, I have had the opportunity to see how far I have truly come. I have seen not only the growth, but also the healing that not only I have experienced, but also you, my fellow tribers have taken part in. It has been an unbelievable year, forget about the unforgettable last couple of months we’ve all been a part of together.

When I look back over the blog posts that have gone live, and the conversations that have happened on my social media platforms,  I find so much comfort in knowing that I’m not alone in many of these feelings. Let me assure you, I still have plenty of work to do, but honestly it is so worth it knowing that others are joining me as we figure it out together.

Looking at the growth I have seen in the different areas of my life gives me so much confidence that we have the potential to grow into any version of ourselves that we can possibly imagine. The key is to continue being open to receiving, to listening, and to doing the hard work in order to make it our reality.

It’s funny. In this season, right here, right now, I find myself really struggling. This season is hard.

Oftentimes I find myself barely crawling, forget about attempting to run, sprint or even walk to my current goals. The thing is, I’ve realized that it’s okay to crawl. As long as you are still moving forward, that’s what matters most.

Yes, some seasons are really hard,  and extremely challenging. Some seasons are taxing on our minds, our hearts and on our souls. But you know what? These are often the most important seasons where we find the opportunity to pause, find grace, and be gentle with oneself as we focus on healing and doing the work needed. We are always that much stronger on the other side of these hard seasons.

I started this blog as a way to capture my journey during what I didn’t know then was my personal growth journey. Never in a million years did I realize how much my life would be touched by each of you.

It’s funny, I am often asked what it means to be Unapologetically Me.  To me, it means that every single day of my life, I show up the best I possibly can. It means that every single day,  I show up for my marriage, family,  my coworkers, my friends,  my tribe, but most importantly that I show up for me. It by no means that I aim for perfection or get it right every day. Oftentimes it looks messy, chaotic and sometimes complicated, but it’s always real.

This, right here, this version of me, today, this is me. I am by no means perfect, but I am damn proud of the person I am. And you know what? You should be too. Because WE have worked too damn hard to get to this place right here, right now to be embarrassed, or ashamed of her. Do not live your life in a place of comparison to someone else. I want you to stand strong and confident in the person that you are today. I am and I hope you are too.

So let’s have a toast.  Let us raise our glass of water, tea, wine, coffee, (you do you here), and let's raise them proud. Here my friend, is to another year of growth. Here’s to many more lessons. Here’s to a journey that I personally cannot wait to see unfold.  A future that I know has  so much in store for us. Things we could have never imagined. Cling cling! (Or blast off as my five year old would say!)

Thank you for being a part of my journey. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of yours. But most importantly, thank you for giving me the space to be unapologetically me. It has truly been an honor to be on this journey with you.

Your friend and biggest fan,

Pamela

Continue your journey to be the best version of YOU, unapologetically.

Congratulations Pam on your one year blog anniversary! You are doing an amazing job and I look up to your honesty. Sometimes we women forget that we have personal needs that need to be met so we can be the best version of ourselves for our families.
You are an inspiration and I thank you!

Hi! I’m Pamela

My dream for this blog is to create a space where I can share my journey, in hopes that maybe one person can learn something and try it in their own life. My goal for myself, and I hope for my readers, is that you are able to unapologetically be the best version of yourself.
