It’s been a minute since I have put out a post on some of my favorite podcasts I’ve recently listened to.
I was on a ROLL of listening to podcasts prior to this season we all find ourselves in. Once we started working from home and I no longer had a commute, I lost the dedicated time I had to listen to daily podcasts. I didn’t realize it until it was gone that my commute had become a part of my daily self care practice. This was the dedicated time of my day that I was able to tune out everything that was going on around me and tune into whatever topic I needed to focus on at that moment.
So with that I haven’t had the opportunity to listen to a ton, but the ones I HAVE listened to have been impactful.
A majority of my list below are brought to you by my girl Brene Brown. When I first was introduced to her years ago, I thought to myself, “Why in the WORLD does she not have a podcast!?”
Then my prayers were answered as she announced that she was releasing one in March.
The conversations she has on this podcast are all so important. I am going to assume here that her podcast might have taken a slight turn as her kick off of the podcast aligned with the current season we find ourselves in. So she does speak to this topic in a couple of them, but it’s not the majority. I personally feel like it is a breath of fresh air to be honest.
You can find the website for her podcast by clicking here.
Some of my favorite episodes so far are:
Alicia Keys talking about her new book More Myself. The amount of notes I took from this podcast was crazy! It was a little over an hour and I wanted to listen to it again immediately after. I actually just started to read the book Alicia refers to during this conversation. Stay tuned for that blog post when I do a review on the book. So far it’s absolutely amazing! Click here to listen to it.
Glennon Doyle talking about her new book Untamed. If you haven’t read this book yet, it is a MUST. I couldn’t put it down. I’ll be the first to admit I can’t get enough of the conversations Glennon is happening out there! Here she is having a pretty vulnerable conversation with Brene. If you have ever felt caged, or stuck, this episode is life changing and will make you want to pick up her book. Click here to check it out.
Brene solo speaking about anxiety. If you have ever experienced anxiety, this one's for YOU. This episode really dug into two concepts. Are you someone who is over functioning or under functioning when it comes to your anxiety. I learned who I was! It was pretty obvious once she started explaining, but I’ll be honest, I didn’t know there was such a thing prior to listening to this one. Click here to listen now.
The other podcast that is on my playlist on the regular is Rachel Hollis: Rise.
She recently had the amazing Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat Pray Love and Big Magic, both a must read! This episode was really based on the book Big Magic that Elizabeth had written a while back, but is still making big life changes for many on the daily, including myself. If you’ve ever had a thought about creating something, then this book and podcast is for you. It really allows you to understand where these thoughts and ideas come from. It’s a big piece of my lessons around the “why” behind my blog. The podcast episode is called “Reclaim Your Magic with Elizabeth Gilbert and you can find it by clicking here.
Okay, so this is what I have for you today. I am heading back into the office soon, so the gift of a commute will be a reality for me in the very near future. I look forward to listening and learning to some new podcasts during this time! If you have podcasts that you just LOVE and think I need to listen to, please send them my way. I would love to add them to my library.
Until next time!
Continue your journey to be the best version of YOU, unapologetically.
